Welcome to SharedRSS EZ Business Blog

This is the first post using our new EZ Business Blog software, (beta version 0.90) -- if everything works out OK we will be making this software, written in PHP available for free. No, you do not need to join SharedRSS to download it (even though you can join SharedRSS for free too). No, it doesn't have a 'powered by' linkback at the bottom of each page. This is really free.

There are many advantages to having a blog on your website, not the least of which is easy communication with your customers though the feedback feature. If you update your blog frequently, its presence will also enhance your standing with search engines. And combining blogging with RSS allows you to keep current customers informed, and attract new customers.

But business blogs are different from personal blogs. Of course some long-time bloggers claim they aren't really blogs at all, while some business folks say all blogs are businesses (publishing businesses) even if some are non-profit. The popularity of AdWords and other advertising on personal blogs has further blurred the distinction.

We believe business blogs should be different, and have designed this simplified blogging system to reflect that belief. Simplified is the key term here, because we believe that most of the 'bells and whistles' in personal blogs serve no business purpose. We will expand on that philosophy further in our next post.

I'm commenting on my own message here, just to check to see that the comment function is working properly.

Everything else seems to be working (at least on this system) so I think I can release the blog software (beta version) next week. Hopefully it will work on other servers without any serious problems!
